Barco will show off the next generation of its Nio grayscale display systems.
The display system family, available in 2-megapixel (MP), 3-MP, and 5-MP resolutions and single- and dual-head configurations, has been enhanced with a new display controller, the BarcoMed Nio, and updated NioWatch calibration software, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based company.
The BarcoMed Nio, which features the firm's proprietary Aura technology, produces 256 simultaneous grays from a palette of 1,024 shades, and has a 64-bit PCI interface permitting image download speeds up to 200 MB per second, the company said.
Barco will also lavish attention on its Coronis 5MP mammography liquid crystal display (LCD). The display received FDA 510(k) clearance earlier this year, and features the vendor's Per Pixel Uniformity (PPU) and Defect Pixel Compensation (DPC) technologies.
PPU measures and adjusts the luminance output of every individual pixel, while DPC detects and identifies defect pixels in each individual display, Barco said. The display also comes with the company's BarcoMed 5MP2FH display controller, I-Guard luminance adjusting technology, and DuraLight long-lifetime backlight display.
