This PACS vendor will debut Brit Lite and a CD/DVD burner.
Designed for referring physicians who don't require the additional sophistication of Brit's Radiology Workbench for Windows DICOM workstation, Brit Lite is a medical image and report viewer that runs within a browser, requiring no application installation, according to the Dallas-based firm. It supports montages, scrolling, magnification, window/level, measurement, drag-and-drop selection, key image selection, comparisons, reports, JPEG 2000 support, and downloading of studies, series, and key images.
Brit Lite will be released January 15, 2005, and will be included for no additional cost in Brit's The Roentgen Files DICOM Server package.
Brit will also be unveiling The Roentgen Burner, a medical image CD/DVD burner. Users can send studies from any Brit workstation or properly configured DICOM device to The Roentgen Burner for creation of a custom-labeled CD or DVD with a viewing application.
The burner then reports the creation of the media to Brit's DICOM server/archive product, The Roentgen Files, for entry into the patient's HIPAA-compliant access log, Brit said. The Roentgen Burner is available now.
