PACS provider SmartPACS has formed a partnership with Provox Technologies of Roanoke, VA, to integrate Provox's VoxReports radiology speech recognition within SmartPACS StarPACS diagnostic workstations.
The two companies are developing a PACS and report-creation user interface by integrating the two systems. A single logon will activate both systems. StarPACS drives the HIPAA-compliant radiology reporting and workflow management system, while VoxReports is controlled by StarPACS.
Provox incorporates text-to-speech technology to provide spoken-field labels with its SmartMacro templates. Report templates are controlled by either voice commands or by using a microphone for traditional dictation.
