Storage firm EMC has introduced its Clariion UltraScale architecture and CX3 series of networked storage systems.
Targeted at the midrange storage market, the UltraScale architecture features end-to-end 4 GB/sec fiber-channel technology, according to the Hopkinton, MA-based firm. It can simultaneously support high-speed two and 4 GB/sec fiber-channel disk drives.
CX3 is the first system to be based on the UltraScale architecture, and can be figured for direct-attached and storage-area network (SAN) deployments, EMC said. Models include CX3-20, CX3-40, and CX3-80.
