Philips Medical Systems

Philips will present version 4.0 of its iSite PACS software, as well as enhancements to its Xcelera cardiovascular image and information management system.

iSite 4.0 includes features such as a new core Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)-compliant database and a new HL7 workflow engine, according to the Andover, MA-based vendor. Philips has also incorporated a localization framework that provides internationalization support. Release in North America is targeted for the second half of 2007.

In addition, Philips will also show its current iSite software release, version 3.5. Philips introduced iSite 3.5 at the 2005 RSNA meeting.

In developments with Xcelera, version 2.1 provides access to all cardiovascular information and clinical tools from a single Xcelera workspace, according to Philips. The company has also added support for more cardiac subspecialties, including electrophysiology (EP) recording signals, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, cardiac MR, and ECG.

In addition, Philips has extended Xcelera functionality for the vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, and catheterization domains. Xcelera 2.1 includes the same quantification and reporting options used in the firm's image acquisition systems.
