Sectra

In its RSNA booth, Sectra will point to the next generation of its PACS workstation software.

The new workstation features a multidimensional image-handling model in which only the specific data needed in every given instance is transferred, according to the Linköping, Sweden-based firm. This progressive loading of images allows radiologists to gain faster access to images, regardless of the size of the dataset, Sectra said.

The software also includes an integrated 3D module, allowing users to perform CT and MR 3D reconstructions at their normal workspace, Sectra said. To optimize distributed reading environments, the company said it's also incorporated satellite servers, near-clinic storage, and local workstation caches.

Sectra expects to release the new workstation software in 2007.

The vendor will also be showcasing its Breast Imaging PACS offering with its IDS5/mx.net multimodality breast imaging workstation.

Sectra's orthopedic package will again be on display, including the addition of automatic calibration functionality. The latest release also features an improved hip module, now including automatic leg length equalization, Sectra said.
