SoftLight Development of Irving, TX, plans to unveil its new Web-based teleradiology study management service at the annual meeting of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in Orlando, FL, later this month.
Telerad is designed to enable teleradiologists to access studies over the Web from any computer, with security measures to comply with maintaining HIPAA regulations. Telerad also keeps both stationary images and animations in a DICOM format.
SoftLight noted that the technology can be downloadable, installed in a day or less, and is paid for on a transactional basis. Clinics and teleradiologists can download Telerad for free, then pay a small fee each time information is transferred to or from a teleradiologist.
