Teleradiology services provider Virtual Radiologic has awarded a contract to tw telecom, the Minneapolis-based firm announced.
Virtual Radiologic hired tw telecom to complete a $3.2 million, multiyear installation of telecommunications networks for its teleradiology services.
The contract includes a 1 Gbps network transmission capacity between Virtual Radiologic's data centers, a 1 Gbps native LAN solution for the transmission of radiological data from its clients, and a 1 Gbps connection for remote administration purposes at the company's Minneapolis headquarters.
tw telecom has also installed primary rate interface (PRI) voice circuits to support the more than 15,000 faxed radiological reports Virtual Radiologic sends in each 24-hour period to attending physicians.
