eRad inks PACS deal

PACS firm eRad of Greenville, SC, has won a contract with a Massachusetts orthopedic device firm, the company reported.

ConforMIS, a privately held company that develops and commercializes personalized, minimally invasive orthopedic devices, has contracted with the company to install eRad PACS.

Diagnostic images are acquired at any number of locations across the world, sent to ConforMIS, and then used in the custom manufacturing of personalized joint resurfacing implants. As part of the production process, images are acquired, stored, and made available to radiologists, consulting physicians, and ConforMIS engineers from any Web-enabled computer via eRad's secure data facilities and Web-based software platform, according to eRad.
