Sectra nets Northern Ireland IT contract

Swedish PACS and digital mammography vendor Sectra of Linköping has signed a contract to implement its RIS/PACS technology for Northern Ireland's Department of Health, Social Services, and Public Safety.

The 10-year agreement includes the management of radiology information and images throughout the country's public healthcare system of 25 hospitals within five trusts.

Sectra estimated the contract's value at 30 million pounds (approximately $53.4 million U.S.).
