Illuminate allows users to search free-text data in radiology reports stored within iSite PACS from Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA. A plug-and-play product fully integrated into iSite, Illuminate can be accessed through the iSite menu on the radiologist's workstation or from QuickLink icons within the iSite exam shelf, according to the Prairie Village, KS-based firm.
From the Illuminate search screen, users can type in the word or words in the studies they want to find. Its crawler algorithm, which gathers and indexes all the text stored on iSite, then provides a list of all corresponding reports typically in less than a second, according to Softek. A relevance algorithm ranks the results.
