(Booth 4058) Merge will highlight its Disaster Recovery service at the 2008 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
The first offering in the Milwaukee-based vendor's new Managed Services initiative, Disaster Recovery provides data transmission, backup, storage, and recovery services. A tiered model that combines onsite cache server storage with offsite warehousing allows for ready access to data, Merge said.
Encrypted images and information are automatically transferred via a secure wide area network (WAN) to a Merge Healthcare data center using Merge's Archive Proxy services, according to the firm. In addition, Merge's ViewCheck software provides continuous, proactive monitoring of hardware, software processes and applications, image transmissions, queues, and logs.
Disaster Recovery is available on a cost-per-study model, with free, unlimited on-demand retrievals of archived studies, according to the firm. It can be used with any PACS.
