Dr. Paul Berger has stepped down as CEO of teleradiology services provider NightHawk Radiology Services of Coeur d'Alene, ID.
Succeeding Berger is David Engert, who has been a member of NightHawk's audit and nominating and corporate governance committees since April 30. Previously, he served as president and CEO of Quality Care Solutions, a provider of advanced healthcare payor enterprise application products that was acquired by Trizetto in January 2007.
Berger was one of the founders of NightHawk and served as its CEO and chairman since 2001. He will continue to serve as nonexecutive chairman of the board and will work with Engert over the next several months to transition the post.
Also leaving NightHawk is Berger's son, Jon Berger, who founded NightHawk along with his father and who was senior vice president of strategy and business development. Jon Berger's resignation from the board will allow NightHawk to maintain compliance with Nasdaq listing standards related to the independence of directors, the company said.
