Removable disk storage developer ProStor Systems of Boulder, CO, debuted its InfiniVault-DICOM storage system at the 2008 RSNA conference in Chicago.
The InfiniVault-DICOM is a long-term storage system designed to address the need for expanded storage capacity and to replace deep archive technologies such as tape and optical storage. The system integrates RDX removable disk cartridges that permit secure local and remote access to images, as it automatically makes multiple copies of data for offsite archival and disaster recovery, according to the Boulder, CO-based company.
The InfiniVault-DICOM Model 100 system is capable of managing more than 1 billion studies in HIPAA-compliant DICOM format, using 500 GB removable disk cartridges and 100 RDX cartridges online and an infinite number offline.
The system is on display in the RSNA booth of ProStor's partner, Rorke Data of Eden Prairie, MN.
