Graphic-processor developer NVIDIA unveiled its Quadro FX 4800 ultrahigh-end professional graphics card at the RSNA 2008 show in Chicago.
Designed for real-time visualization of large datasets and processing large textures and frames, this card has 1.5 GB of graphics memory and features fill rates of 38 billion texels per second and geometry performance of 300 million triangles per second.
Other features include ultrahigh color fidelity and resolution, as well as high-performance visualization through use of CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) compiler in a C language environment and tool suite, according to the Santa Clara, CA-based firm.
