MedCommons announced the integration of its HealthURL viewer with the EMC Open Systems Archive to provide a modular DICOM-compliant management platform.
The resulting combination is intended to aggregate and reconcile patient information, including medical images, and collate the most important healthcare documents, including legacy documents, structured and coded XML documents, and diagnostic imaging into a patient-centric archive.
The underlying principle of this approach is to provide a unified structured presentation of an individual patient's health history to inform medical decision-making, avoid unnecessary duplication of procedures, and improve the safety of care.
