Software developer Compressus announced it has been selected to implement its MEDxConnect system at multiple sites in Washington.
Medical Imaging Northwest (MINW) has chosen Compressus to complete an enterprise-wide integration of its disparate RIS, PACS, voice recognition software, and workstation viewers at multiple sites in the Tacoma area, including Diagnostic Imaging Centers, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Allenmore Hospital.
The MINW implementation is designed to manage and distribute DICOM and HL7 digital imaging data, including an integration with McKesson PACS, McKesson HRS, and Kodak Carestream workstations. It will also include integration of PowerScribe version 4.8 voice recognition software.
With 233 board-certified radiologists, MINW reads and creates nearly 350,000 diagnostic imaging exams a year among 12 sites around the Tacoma area.
The implementation is expected to be complete in early 2009, according to the Washington, DC-based company.
