PACS vendor Amicas saw revenue slip and its net loss grow for the first quarter of fiscal 2009 (end-March 31).
For the period, the Boston-based company reported revenue of $11.3 million, down 12% compared with revenue of $12.8 million in the same period of 2008. The company's net loss for the most recent quarter was $1.2 million, compared with a net loss of $467,000 for the first quarter of 2008.
The numbers cover the period before the company's acquisition of fellow PACS vendor Emageon, which was completed on April 3. Amicas ended the first quarter with cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities worth a total of $56.6 million and no long-term debt, according to the firm.
