VMware awarded Peake contract

Virtualization and cloud infrastructure firm VMware will provide cloud-based technology for Peake Healthcare Innovations, a joint venture of Harris Corp. and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Peake will work with VMware and Intel to provide a cloud platform for managing and delivering patient images to any healthcare facility through a variety of end-user devices.

Intel and VMware have collaborated in the past on architectural enhancements in the Intel Xeon processor and software optimization in VMware vSphere to enhance performance.
