Telemedicine and PACS developer Net Medical Xpress Solutions reported that volume for its XR-Express teleradiology platform has increased by 40% in 12 months since January 2012.
Teleradiology case volume increased by 20% between December 2012 and January 2013, according to the company. The firm attributed the gain to a new business line that started a year ago targeting small rural hospitals and larger hospitals.
In January 2013, the company contracted with three New Mexico hospitals and one Arizona hospital for its specialist telemedicine program. This provides remote consultations in the specialties of cardiology, neurology, and psychology. It expects to add specialists in critical care, intensive care unit, orthopedics, nephrology, urology, and hospital-based telemedicine services for nursing homes and rehabilitation hospitals.
The company intends to release its 2012 financial results in late March.
