AdvaHealth has acquired Radical Imaging’s FlexView, a zero-footprint DICOM viewer, and rebranded it as AdvaView, a viewer module now integrated with the company's AdvaPACS cloud-native imaging platform.
AdvaView features an open, modular, web-native architecture designed to support an AI-agnostic approach, allowing algorithms and tools to be added or replaced without being locked into vendor-controlled ecosystems, the company said. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration-cleared viewer gives radiologists and clinicians browser-based access to imaging studies from any device without requiring software installation.
AdvaHealth also announced the appointment of Rob Lewis, founder and CEO of Radical Imaging, to its board of directors. Lewis co-founded the Open Health Imaging Foundation (OHIF), an open-source imaging platform, and led development of FlexView prior to the acquisition.
