GE Medical Systems reported second-quarter revenues of $2.4 billion, up 9% compared with the $2.21 billion posted in the second quarter a year ago. For the period (end-June 30), the Waukesha, WI-based vendor had segment profit of $440 million, compared with $401 million in the second quarter of 2002.
Total orders reached nearly $2.5 billion, up 2% from the second quarter of 2002. GE reported strong order growth for its LightSpeed16 CT scanners, LogiqBook and Voluson 730 4D ultrasound systems, as well as digital x-ray systems such as its Innova 4100 unit.
