WebMD posts Q3 gains

Healthcare services and information technology developer WebMD reported fiscal 2003 third-quarter revenues of $250.6 million, a solid gain from the $217 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-September 30), the Elmwood Park, NJ-based company had net income of $6.1 million, compared with net income of $4.5 million reported for the third quarter last year.

The firm’s WebMD Practice Services of Van Nuys, CA, which includes the company’s RIS operations, reported revenues of $75.5 million for the quarter, a 7% increase compared with the $70.5 million posted for the third quarter of 2002. Earnings before interest, restructuring, noncash, and other expenses were $3.7 million, a downturn compared with the $7.2 million recognized in the same period last year.
