Philips, Siemens, net multimodality Premier deals

Multimodality vendors Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, and Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, have signed multiyear agreements with Premier Purchasing Partners, the group purchasing organization of Premier.

According to San Diego-based Premier, Philips was awarded a three-year contract for CT, MR, nuclear medicine, PET, radiography, ultrasound, and cardiac imaging technology. Siemens was awarded a three-year contract for MRI, mammography, CT, nuclear medicine, PET, ultrasound, radiography, and cardiovascular equipment.

The three-year agreements are effective September 1, 2004 through August 31, 2007. Estimated sales volume for all product categories should approach $2 billion over the three-year period of the contract, Premier said.
