Biophotonic imaging technology developer Xenogen of Alameda, CA, has launched the IVIS Lumina imaging system, a value-oriented optical system that provides quantitative fluorescent and bioluminescent imaging capabilities.
IVIS Lumina was designed for principal investigator labs and academic institutions looking for a preclinical imaging system with high-quality images at an affordable price, according to the company. Like Xenogen's IVIS 3D system introduced last year, the new system uses the company's optical imaging technology to enable researchers to visualize, track, and understand biological processes in living animals, noninvasively and in real-time.
