In our April 4, 2006, article on a proposed Massachusetts bill banning physician self-referral, the story incorrectly stated that no other states have laws banning physician self-referral. A number of states do have such laws, although most do not address the issue of physicians who operate equipment in their own offices, as the Massachusetts bill does.
