Mindray doubles Q2 revenues

Revenues from recent acquisition Datascope helped Chinese medical equipment manufacturer Mindray Medical International of Shenzhen double its revenues in the second quarter of fiscal 2008 (end-June 30).

For the period, Mindray posted sales of $145.7 million, up 99.5% compared with sales of $73 million in the second quarter of 2007. The company's net income for the most recent period was $24.1 million, compared with a net income of $20.4 million in the corresponding quarter of 2007.

The company said that it completed its integration of the Datascope patient monitoring business during the second quarter, and the company's China operations grew 40%. Mindray's quarterly results included revenue of $35.4 million from its medical imaging business, representing growth of 51.3% compared with sales of $23.4 million in the second quarter of 2007.
