The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted 510(k) clearance to medical device company ControlRad for the marketing of its ControlRad Select radiation dose-reduction technology.
ControlRad Select aims to reduce radiation dose by 85% without compromising image quality. ControlRad Select uses proprietary semitransparent filters, a user interface tablet, and image processing algorithms that are retrofitted to existing Artis zee interventional imaging systems from Siemens Healthineers.
