In 2002, an estimated 12.55 million radiographic-only and radiography/fluoroscopy (R/F) procedures were performed in R/F rooms in 2,075 hospitals of 150 beds or more.

Based on responses to IMV’s 2003 Radiographic Fluoroscopy Census of hospitals with 150+ beds. Note that this estimate of 7.44 million radiographic-only procedures does not include those that are performed in radiography (rad) rooms that do not have radiographic/fluoroscopy capability.

Of these 12.55 million procedures performed in R/F rooms, a total of 5.11 million procedures (41%) were R/F procedures, and 7.44 million (59%) were radiographic-only procedures.
