Ultromics adds probability scoring to EchoGo Heart Failure software

Ultromics has added a probability scoring feature to its EchoGo Heart Failure AI screening software for the detection of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

The Oxford, U.K.-based firm said in a statement that it has added an AI-powered probability scoring system that generates a continuous score of the likelihood of disease to EchoGo Heart Failure. Ultromics said that the new algorithm gives the platform greater sensitivity in detecting and differentiating between HFpEF and those at risk or with possible (but unconfirmed) HFpEF.

The algorithm evaluates sequences of echocardiogram frames and assigns scores based on patterns consistent with HFpEF. An uncertainty estimate is included with the score so that uncertain predictions may be flagged for further review and to reduce false positives or negatives.

In addition, the new feature includes comparative analysis visualization, allowing clinicians to compare a patient's results against a large reference population of HFpEF and non-HFpEF cases, the firm said.

The new probability scoring system is available now as part of the EchoGo Heart Failure.
