Imaging services provider Alliance Imaging saw first-quarter revenues grow 4.1%, but net income for the period (end-March 31) fell as margins were squeezed by lower scan volumes, according to the Anaheim, CA, company.
For the period, Alliance reported revenue of $102.7 million, compared with $98.7 million in the same period the year before. The company posted net income of $6.9 million, compared with net income of $7.9 million in the first quarter of 2002.
Alliance president and CEO Paul Viviano said that harsh weather in the eastern U.S. caused scan volumes to decline, resulting in lower profit margins. On the other hand, the company’s PET business is booming, growing 130% compared to the same period last year.
