AK Associates files suit

Prime Medical Services, the Austin, TX-based parent company of mobile-coach manufacturer AK Associates of Harvey, IL, has initiated a multiple-count lawsuit in Cook County, IL, against Calutech Mobile Solutions.

In addition to its lawsuit against Calutech, the firm has also filed suit against a number of Calutech employees. All persons named are former employees of the Calumet Coach Company, the assets of which were purchased by AK Associates in May 2001.

The counts of the lawsuit include misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contracts (specifically, confidentiality agreements), breach of severance agreements, and breach of employment agreements. The complaint made against Calutech and the named individuals requests that the court award compensatory and exemplary damages, injunctive relief, and attorney’s fees in favor of AK Associates, said Prime.
