Imaging services provider Radiologix reported third-quarter revenue of $64.4 million, down 7.6% from the $69.6 million posted in the third quarter a year ago. For the period (end-September 30), the Dallas-based firm had a net loss of $646,000, compared with net income of $3.2 million for the same period a year ago.
Radiologix said its business in the third quarter was impacted by lower volume related to continued competitive pressures in key markets; Hurricane Isabel, which disrupted its mid-Atlantic operations by closing some of its imaging centers for up to three days; and seasonal fluctuations that generally makes the third quarter the firm’s weakest period.
