Dear AuntMinnie Member,
Radiology professionals are often passionate about their field -- and for good reason. Few other healthcare disciplines offer the unique mix of rapid technological progress, professional growth, and ability to affect patient care at an early stage that's found in medical imaging.
That's why we're pleased to announce this year's edition of the Minnies, AuntMinnie.com's annual event to recognize excellence in radiology. The Minnies give you the opportunity to tell us what you love about radiology by submitting your nominations for 13 categories representing nearly every area of medical imaging, from Best New Radiology Device to Most Influential Radiology Researcher.
For the next two weeks, we're accepting your suggestions on candidates to include in the Minnies semifinals phase. After that, our expert panel will select winners in the semifinals and finals phases, with the winners recognized at this year's RSNA meeting in Chicago.
So now's your chance to let us know what you love about radiology or to acknowledge a colleague who you believe deserves recognition. To submit your nominations, just go to minnies.auntminnie.com. For a list of last year's winners, click here.
The mysteries of CPT III codes

Many imaging facilities have encountered more difficulties getting reimbursed for CPT III codes as opposed to the more common CPT I codes. But the CPT III classification does have value and should be used whenever it applies, he believes.
