Radiology meets high culture this week with the 2003 edition of the European Congress of Radiology. AuntMinnie is bringing you all the news, both clinical and business, from this important meeting taking place on the banks of the Danube.
We begin our coverage with an exclusive interview with ECR 2003 president Dr. Nicholas Gourtsoyiannis, dean of the University of Crete School of Medicine. Dr. Gourtsoyiannis covers some of the highlights of this year’s meeting, such as the new ECR Meets sessions, which this year are highlighting the contributions that Greece and Turkey have made to European radiology.
Also new is EPOS (Electronic Poster Online System), a completely online system of poster presentation that will replace traditional posters at the show. Learn how EPOS will advance the ECR’s role in radiology education by making posters available permanently on the Internet.
Also in the spotlight is the European Excellence in Education (E3) project, an ambitious effort to unify radiology education throughout Europe through the creation of digital media and virtual classrooms. The first E3 educational materials will be available at the conference, and eventually the EPOS presentations will become part of the E3 curricula.
Learn about these initiatives -- and the sessions Dr. Gourtsoyiannis' thinks you won't want to miss -- by clicking here. We’ll be delivering daily updates from the show starting Friday March 7, so head straight to our Radiology News area to find out what’s going on. You'll want to check back during the weekend and early next week, too, for daily updates from radiology’s premier European conference.
