The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) has named Robert A. Lookstein, MD, as its new president for the 2025 to 2026 term.
Lookstein, an interventional radiologist and professor of radiology and surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, assumed the presidency at the SIR 2025 annual meeting in Nashville on April 1. The meeting started March 29 and will continue until April 2.
Other incoming officers to the SIR’s 2025-2026 board of directors include President-elect Saher S. Sabri, MD, of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, DC; Secretary Kelvin Hong, MD, of Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore; and immediate past president Robert J. Lewandowski, MD, of Northwestern Medicine Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
