The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Board of Trustees recently approved changes to its breast sonography content specifications.
The ARRT periodically conducts a job analysis to ensure fairness and accuracy for certification exam content specifications. It reviews certification documents every five years.
The most recent changes pertain to patient care, image production, and procedures related to breast sonography. The changes include more detail for patient symptoms, automated whole breast ultrasound (ABUS) for correlation with other imaging, and the addition of beam steering, static elastography, and automatic imaging optimization.
Visit the ARRT's site for more information on these updates.
