Dr. James Borgstede has been elected treasurer of the International Society of Radiology (ISR).
Borgstede, former chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Board of Chancellors, is the first American radiologist to serve as an ISR officer since former ACR president Dr. Joseph Marasco Jr. served as president, secretary treasurer, and past president from 1989 to 2001. Borgstede was named to the post at the ISR's annual meeting in Marrakech, Morocco, in June.
Borgstede currently is vice chairman of the radiology department at the University of Colorado, Denver. He served as ACR chair from 2004 to 2006, as well as president of the ACR, chair of the ACR Economics Commission, and several other leadership roles within the Reston, VA-based organization.
