Cyntellect of San Diego has named David Burns as chief operating officer and vice president of sales and marketing.
Burns comes to the life sciences firm from GE Healthcare's Life Sciences (formerly Amersham) unit, where he served as head of strategic growth, head of strategic business development, and vice president of commercial alliances for the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based company.
Prior to GE, Burns was CEO of Imaging Research of St. Catharines, Ontario, which was acquired by Amersham in 2003.
