The Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) named its 2025 leadership award recipients during the American College of Radiology’s annual meeting held May 3 to 7 in Washington, DC.
Cheri L. Canon, MD, of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, received the RLI’s 2025 Leadership Luminary Award for her exceptional lifetime achievements, innovation, leadership and service to the radiology medical specialty. The award recognizes individuals whose participation in an RLI course or program was integral to the successful completion of specific projects or initiatives at their practices or institutions.
The RLI also announced that Yu-Hui Huang, MD, of the University of Minnesota and Hennepin Healthcare, is this year’s recipient of its Impact in Leadership Award. Huang integrates her clinical experience with a background in biomedical visualization, focusing on the use of 3D imaging technologies to enhance diagnostics and treatment planning to improve patient outcomes, RLI noted.
In addition, RLI named 2025 recipients of its Philips Emerging Leader RLI Scholarships, as follows:

- Mark Hamilton, MD, of the Northwell Health Zucker School of Medicine
- John T. Moon, MD, of Emory University School of Medicine
- Moozhan Nikpanah, MD, of the University of Alabama at Birmingham
- Kyle Stumetz, DO, of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth
The RLI will recognize the award recipients at the RLI Summit to be held September 26 to 28 in Boston.
