WHO to hold patient safety webinar on medical imaging

The World Health Organization (WHO) on September 17 will offer a webinar on the importance of accurate and timely diagnoses in ensuring patient safety that will include discussion of medical imaging and radiation exposure.

The event will reflect the theme of the WHO's World Patient Safety Day, "Improving diagnosis for patient safety" and will feature speakers and panelists from the following organizations:

  • The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP)
  • The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP)
  • The International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP)
  • The International Society of Radiology (ISR)
  • The International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT)
  • RAD-AID International (RAD-AID)
  • The World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB)
  • The World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB)
