The PacifiCare Latino Health Scholars Program will reward $100,000 worth of scholarships to Spanish-speaking high school students who pursue careers in the healthcare industry, including radiology, radiologic technology, radiologic nursing, and healthcare administration.

The Cypress, CA-based health organization is now accepting applications from high school seniors who speak fluent Spanish, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA), and are located in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. The majority of the 50 scholarships ($2,000 each) will be granted to students from California (18) and Colorado (12).

The students must also show proof of acceptance into a university, community college, or accredited technical college anywhere in the U.S. Applications can be obtained at the PacifiCare Web site and are due on June 30, 2004.
