The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) has installed its new president, Deborah Baumgarten, MD, at its annual meeting being held in San Diego. She succeeds Angelisa Paladin, MD, of the University of Washington in Seattle.

Baumgarten spent 25 years as an attending at Emory University in Atlanta, GA; in 2020, she joined the faculty of Mayo Clinic Florida in Jacksonville. She has served on the ARRS executive committee, as president of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR), and as consultant to the editor for the journal Radiology. Baumgarten has also received awards from Emory, the SAR, the American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Board of Radiology (ABR), and the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU), to name a few.
