Pheochromocytoma:
Clinical:
In adults, approximately 10% of pheochromocytomas are extra-adrenal- of these, the majority (98%) are located in the abdomen (most commonly associated with the celiac, superior mesenteric, and inferior mesenteric ganglia) [1]. About 1% of extra-adrenal pheochromocytomas occur in the thorax [1].
X-ray:
MRI: The lesions have a "salt and pepper" appearance on T1 images- the tumor is very bright, while flow voids associated with vessels appear dark [1].
