Medrad to make syringes in China

Contrast injector firm Medrad has signed an agreement to begin manufacturing disposable syringes in China this year. The Indianola, PA-based firm said it will partner with Hong Kong-based Vincent Medical Manufacturing to produce disposable syringes for use in angiography and CT procedures.

Vincent Medical has manufacturing facilities in Dong Guan, Guangdong in the People’s Republic of China. The syringes are targeted for Asian markets, including China, Japan, and other countries in the region, according to Medrad. A supporting distribution center will be established in Singapore or Hong Kong.

The agreement is part of Medrad’s strategy of increasing its presence in foreign markets, and parallels an expansion of its headquarters manufacturing facilities in Indianola, according to the vendor.
