Dr. Robert Carretta is settling into his new position as vice president of medical and professional services for the Americas at Nycomed Amersham Imaging of Princeton, NJ. The division was created in April following the restructuring of the company's global medical division.
Carretta is past president of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and was director of nuclear medicine at Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, CA, for more than 20 years. He joined Nycomed Amersham in late December as its director of nuclear medicine in clinical research.
He is responsible for all of Nycomed Amersham's product lines, including the contrast agents for CT, MR, and ultrasound, as well as radiopharmaceuticals, such as Metastron, OncoSeed, and Rapidstrand.
Carretta said he works with medical societies and works on investigator-initiated clinical studies, helping with site selection, protocol review, and investigator meetings. He also works with customers, regulatory agencies, and company sales and marketing staff.
