The American College of Radiology (ACR) has introduced a resource that summarizes steps to be taken when managing a patient's acute reaction to contrast.
The contrast reaction card is a new addition to the ACR's manual on contrast media. It lists common and serious contrast reactions and includes details about premedication and contrast leaks.
The card is the size of a driver's license. Practices can print the cards, enter the phone number the facility uses to activate a code blue, and distribute them to staff, according to the ACR.
