The American College of Radiology (ACR) has released a clinical image research registry.
The ACR National Clinical Imaging Research Registry (ANCIRR) currently includes six image databases, with eight more to come, the college said. Images come from a variety of practice settings and give researchers access to large datasets.
The newest registry of the first six is a COVID-19 database that serves as the primary data collection for the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB)-funded Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC). This set also provides images to the Society of Critical Care Medicine VIRUS COVID-19 Registry and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute PETAL Clinical Trials Network, the ACR said.
The ANCIRR is different from the National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR), which aims to improve practice quality through site feedback and benchmarking, according to the college.
