Bracco is collaborating with fellow Italian firm Philochem to develop and commercialize a small organic molecule for diagnostic imaging applications.
The new molecule will have the capability to selectively detect a variety of metastatic solid tumors in cancer patients, according to the vendors. The companies said they will develop technologies to discover and optimize small-molecule ligands to yield high sensitivity and specificity in solid tumor imaging.
Bracco and Philochem believe the small molecule will improve the diagnosis, staging, and monitoring of treatment response in cancer patients.
