Electron beam tomography developer Imatron moved into the black in its first quarter. For the period (end-March 31), the South San Francisco, CA-based vendor had revenues of $11.3 million, up 117% over the $5.2 million reported in the first quarter of 1999. Imatron had net income of $248,000, compared with a net loss of $3 million for the same period last year. The firm sold seven of its EBT scanners in the first quarter, and now has the largest order backlog in its history.
